Day 6: Syndey, Australia to Bali, Indonesia! (Wednesday May 17th, 2023)
Today was a travel day. I woke up at 8am, did my 30min of yoga, got ready, ate breakfast, packed up my things, and left the hostel around 10. The girl at the front recommended to get some anti-motion sickness pills for the boats in Bali (more on those details later!) Before I left Australia because the ones in Bali also have a sleepiness additive in them, which then ruins your whole day. So I picked some up on my way to the train.
I arrived at the airport and got through security by about 11:30. I bought a cup of tea and some lunch and caught up on emails, jobs, etc. (the fun stuff) while I waited for my flight.
My first flight was to Melbourne (ironically) and was a breeze. I slept for most of it (per usual). Then at the Melbourne airport, I had to go to the international terminal, which meant back through security. I got a snack and finished catching up on emails, jobs, messages etc. (more fun stuff) while I waited for my flight.
The flight was also nice and easy - I had an entire row to myself! I had a gross flight sandwich for dinner and then worked on putting together a document for people to reference when they borrow my truck & camper while I'm gone on how to use everything. After that, I slept for most of the time.
Once we arrived at the airport, the first thing I noticed wasn't the warm air. But the cigarette smoke in the air. I went through customs which was hot, but easy.
On the other side, I met my driver who took me to the hotel. It was a nice warm evening and I was excited to wake up an start in a new country. I got a private room to myself with a bathroom ensuite which was like a hotel room (for $10!). I decided to do this instead of the dorm to be able to sleep well, sleep in, and sleep often. I felt like my body needed to rest and recover. Tomorrow, I was planning to have a nice easy rest day to catch up on sleep.
